So what is being successful? Being successful can mean many things to many people. For a lot of people it means financial success and independence that can include a good quality dwelling, holidays travelling the globe, and financial security for them and their kids. For others it can mean admiration, being seen as a leader and having countless people looking up to you. It might also mean freedom from the anxieties and worries that a lot of people have in their lives.
Success can mean happiness in finding pleasure from life and getting to the conclusion of your life knowing that you've lived it to the full in an honest and honourable way. Not winning against other people, winning against yourself and your own individual concerns and limitations. In reality every person wants to be a success in life and to have the best that life can offer. Nobody enjoys living in poverty and mediocrity.
Some of the most practical success philosophy ever devised have actually come from biblical material. Everyone has heard the axiom 'faith can move a mountain'. This is maybe accurate that with enough faith and determination one may be able to move a mountain where it might take some time, but the idea that with faith and belief you can attain anything you want in life is basically accurate, and has been proved time and time again all through history.
If you're convinced that you can accomplish something, you have no doubts, and you trust that it will happen so single-mindedly it is almost as if it already has, that reality starts to develop. I have no idea how this works but it actually does. You tend to find yourself in the right place at the right time, talking to precisely the sort of person who can assist you, or finding yourself in a situation that you would find impossible to envisage, but that helps you gradually toward your desired goals.
Now I'm not one for mumbo-jumbo and giving people misleading hope, but this has definitely worked in my life and can work in yours. You just need to train yourself to think in that way. You can usually tell who the positive people are. They walk with their heads held high and with spring and pace in their stride. It's evident that they know where they're going and are not just aimlessly moving through life with no direction. On the other hand you can see the individual who has no direction or desire. They commonly walk with a stoop, failing to raise their feet properly off the ground, and mumbling rather than speaking clearly. It's as if the whole weight of the world is on the shoulders, and to them it feels like it is. What sort of person do you want to be?
So start by behaving more positively in your life. At first you could need to lie to yourself. Tell yourself it's a breathtaking day, that things are good, and that you will realize your goals. Tell yourself time and time again. Every time you speak these words you are programming your mind. Programming yourself to the extent that in the future you will come to believe these things. I'm not talking about giving yourself false expectation for the sake of it, but helping you to shift away from the damaging feelings you have towards a more constructive outlook.
Every morning tell yourself how blessed you are to be alive, what a brilliant day it is, and how thankful you are for your health, your family, and all the good things you have in your life. This will prove a great start towards overcoming your anxieties and concerns for the future, and changing yourself into a person who knows that they can succeed. Good Luck.
