Howard Berg is touted as the world s fastest reader by the Guinness Book of World Records after he read more than 25000 words in one minute and also for writing more than 100 words in one minute in 1990. He is a graduate of S.U.N.Y Binghamton and he is the co founder of Gateway which helps people to develop their reading speeds. He has appeared on the media several times talking about how people can develop their reading speeds. He has written several books dealing with strategies that people can use to increase their reading speeds. Maximum speed reading is a new program that is designed to help readers to comprehend enormous amounts of written information with incredible speed and remarkable retention.

This program can be learned from the comfort of your home meaning you do not have to go to class. This course is self taught and it guarantees the user a lot of benefits that you stand to gain by going through the course. The program is designed to help students to master reading techniques that are useful during researching and studying. However, it does not target students only. For non students it will help you to be in a better position to quickly read newspapers, books and other materials. According to the writer there are three fundamentals to studying or revising. They are: the ability to read quickly, good comprehension, and good note taking skills. Maximum speed reading focuses on how anyone can develop and hone these three skills and become better readers from the comfort of their home.

After going through maximum speed reading, you will be able to increase your reading speed to very high levels after just a few hours of practicing the methods that the writer teaches in the program. You will also be exposed to some hand motions that are not well known but which have the ability to exponentially increase your reading rate. This course will also teach you how to use those hand motions to greatly increase your reading speed.

At the end of the course you will also know how to create a positive and conducive reading atmosphere regardless of where you are. Maximum speed reading gives you tactics that you can use whether you are in a place with loud noises or movement. The course also teaches an important skimming technique that you can use to quickly determine whether the material is worth reading. This is useful in this age when people are blasted with information especially through the internet. This course will also help you to utilize time spent reading better and ensure that you utilize that time optimally.

In this course, Howard Berg also teaches you how to understand and navigate the complex layers of meaning that is contained in written material without necessarily reading it over and over again. This is quite useful to students who can save time and energy spent reading one thing. You also learn how to identify the hidden clues and necessary information that is normally concealed in the table of contents of various books. You will also appreciate the importance of music to your reading routine. It also greatly improves your reading speed.
