You might hire a commercial plumber or a commercial plumbing contractor for the plumbing tasks in your house. Similarly, you would have hired a professional painter when you got the walls of your house colored. As soon as the painters get done with the paint, their job is over. Now, it is you who has to maintain it so as to increase the lifespan of the paint on the walls.

The wall paint tends to be affected very easily if you neglect their care. Small negligence in maintenance can lead to heavier burdens on your pocket. Therefore, you must know how to maintain and protect it through paint preservative measures.

Stains are the biggest threats to the paint. If dried, not only will they be hard to remove, but will also affect the real color of the paint. Similarly, there is a high chance that you accidently peel off the paint while trying to remove the dried stain.

If you get a stain on the wall, the best tip is to clean it with a cleaning mixture. A homemade remedy is to make a mixture of some vinegar, mild soap and water. Use a towel or a piece of fabric to dip in the mixture, and clean the stain with this.

While you clean, make sure that you only apply moderate pressure. Rubbing can make the paint fragile and might also cause it to peel. A moderate pressure will also mean that you are avoiding burnishing, which would otherwise affect the paint due to excess water.

Scratches are another risk to the paint s life. Care must be taken to avoid them at all times. However, if by chance you get them on the walls, the only solution is to touch up the scratched area with some paint of the same color. However, when you are doing this you need to be very careful.

At first, you should rub off other surrounding abrasive surface so that it does not fall loose after you are done with painting. After you scrub this using a cloth or any other soft material, you should paint the affected area very carefully. Apply another coat if necessary so as to match with the tone of the rest of the wall paint.

Other than this, you need to keep the general maintenance of the walls in your consideration. Whenever you are cleaning them, you need to use a soft material. This is important when you are using a vacuum cleaner. Make sure that you attach a machine that has a soft brush on it. Often, people might use an attached machine that is metallic or plastic. Care must be taken if you are using them.

Moreover, you should keep the walls clean from cobwebs, dust and dirt. Prolonged exposure to them not only makes them look untidy, but might also affect the color.

On the whole, increasing the lifespan of the wall paint is not a difficult task. With tips like these you can maintain their existence for long. Keep them clean and maintained, and it will surely be a long time until you decide to repaint the walls.
