We all start out optimistic and full of hope for our life will work out. Alas the reality of life, jobs, difficult friendships and money worries gradually creep up on us and our expectations have crashed dramatically. However with some simple changes in attitude and behaviour you can recapture your youthful optimism.
Be Cheerful in the morning
If you get up in a foul temper, it can be an unpleasant prelude to your day. The tone for your full day can be established. Smiling and positive outlook not only feels good but helps your brain to make more feel good chemical substances, so you feel even better.
Have Plans for your time
There is little more irritating than a horrific day. Little progresses smoothly, your short term memory implodes or find yourself doing some things twice. You can avoid this by jotting down your aims for the day to come first thing. It possibly will take account of what you intend to achieve. Even if you only include the shopping and cleaning, if you write it down first thing and then mark it done in the evening you'll be aware of a great impression of success.|A terrible day never seems to get any better. Problems crop up, things are forgotten and work can easily be duplicated. Without a plan this is awkward to counter so use five minutes each morning to jot down a to do list. Include everything you need to achieve even simple actions such as cooking and food shopping. A list filled with ticks is a real boost to your mood.}
Keep Your Mind On What You're Doing
Put together your plan in the morning and concentrate on the important things. For some of them it may be useful for you to picture in your imagination actually doing the task and succeeding. Such as exercising or passing an exam. None of us need to visualize doing the washing! Don't lose sight of the importance of fun and relaxation in your daily activities. Combining them both will give you the best chance of succeeding each day.
Have A Sense Of Proportion
Events often conspire to stop you achieving what you want to do each day. You can only control yourself, other people and events are often beyond your reach. Recognise this fact and don't sweat it. Avoid the negative emotions such as frustration or irritation as they usually don't move you any further forward.
If you do the best you can with a clear plan then more often than not you will succeed to some degree.
Don't get set in your ways
You need to have new experience and challenges in your life. It is all too easy to slide into a routine and stop trying new experiences. Whether it's food, work, television, music, languages or holidays try to vary things and try, taste or do new things.
As the years pass you need to make more effort to maintain a positive attitude. But anyone can do it.
